Barrett had been sick all week, the week that school started again. He finally made it back to school on Friday, and was feeling much better. Also on Friday, his soccer team had playoffs for first place, so it was good that he was doing better. He played goalie the first game and did very, very well! It was a hard game, against another team from his regular competition team, so it was good, whoever won. Barrett's team won, and got to play in the final. Barrett played on the field, but he did a lot of standing around. I am hoping that is because he has been sick. He did get a goal in that second game, so that was pretty cool.
Barrett's team ended up winning first place in their division! It was awesome! A big thanks to Drake's dad for sending me these pictures, because I didn't bring my camera. Those of you who know me, should be shocked.
And then on Tuesday, he came home from school and took off his shoes and went right to sleep.
That's not a good sign.
He told me his throat hurt. On Thursday, when he was still telling me about throat pain, I took him to the doctor and he tested positive for strep. Dang it!
We'll see how his game goes tonight. I'm thinking it may be a good idea to keep him in goalie for the whole game. We'll see.

Elizabeth has been in dog heaven because we are babysitting a teacup poodle named Mr. Darcy. He is very cute and has bonded very well with Elizabeth. He slept on her bed last night and didn't even ask to go outside once during the night. And no accidents!
She has been walking him like crazy, and he is excited when she gets the leash. He does little happy circles on the carpet.
She has also been taking pictures of him today. It is so fun. He feels right at home with her! So cute.
Elizabeth has also been teaching Barrett about Yoga.
It is fun to see these two doing tons of fun things together!

It is only right that Elizabeth should love Mr. Darcy and he, her.
Well said, Kim, well said! And Mr. Darcy was in absolute heaven at your house! Thanks a bundle to the most terrifical dog-sitters around!! So happy to hear he wasn't a pain!
