So, as luck would have it, they told Parker that he looked too young to be an extra for the movie they were doing about high school students. They did let him lounge around for about 10 hours on Monday and then decided that he was just the right size to be a body double for one of the main characters!! He acutally got to act in this movie! Today he got another chance to act too! The actor that he doubles for is too young to work the full day and by law has to leave at a certain time, so since this actor wears a full snowsuit at times, Parker dresses up like him and does his job while he is gone. Parker LOVES this! They have asked him to come back every day, as they could need him at any point in the day. All the actors and head honchos know him by name and have told me how awesome he is at being a double. The director and producer both came up to me and told me that he is the best double they have had!
Stephanie, on the other hand, has been an extra all week and they have used her ALOT! A lot of the neighbor kids are doing it too and it has been fun to see all of them in the shots together in various scenes. Yesterday (Tuesday) it was a flashback to the 50's, having to do with going back in time. Stephanie wore my poodle skirt and pink funky glasses and they gave her a bowling shirt to wear with the name "Gladys" on it, which she thought was totally hillarious! She has spent the last 3 days there, all day, and intends to spend the rest of the week there too. And she is earning $82.00 a day, she is so excited!
The name of the movie right now is called "Minutemen". We will see if that name is what it is when it is released.
It has been a real eye opener as to what goes on in the making of a film. The kids are having a great time.
