So, I have figured it out. Sorry, I am a bit slow.
The Preston Citizen is the town's newspaper.
Yes. It is.
AND I also found the name of the awesome mercantile that we stopped at. I hope to go back there, someday. It was in a town just north of Preston, named Swan Lake. It is right on highway 91.
It is called the Thomas Merc. Co.. I love that the google page also has it listed as a fabric store. Because it did have fabric, and some good pieces, too. Not to mention the long arm quilting machine that was on location!
When I go back, I hope I remember to get a picture. I still can't believe I didn't take one!
