Last night we went to the Beez game. We had SO much fun! This was the first time EVER that I have had a fun time with all of my kids at the ball park. No one needed me to personally take them to the bathroom, the older kids helped with that. No one needed a diaper change. No one needed to go to ride on the train in the outfield. We all just sat and enjoyed the game. Stephanie sat by me and we laughed and laughed and really, genuinely enjoyed each other's company! So fun! AND EVERYONE GOT ALONG! What a relaxing, enjoyable time!!!
Parker brought his glove and promised the people in the row behind us that he would protect them. That promise didn't work out too well. While he was taking Barrett to wash his hands, a foul ball was hit to our direction and a really cute, sweet, old lady got her shin bashed in. To Parker's defense, she was five rows directly above us, and out of the promised protection zone. The ball bounced off the old lady and the guy that sat in the seat next to Parker got the ball. Parker was bummed, but took it well. (side note: the paramedics came up and were buzzing around that sweet lady, putting ice packs on her leg and having her elevate it and getting/giving information. I was impressed!)
Later in the game, one of the relief pitchers, was looking to the crowd for someone to throw a ball to. Parker stood up, and drew attention to himself and the guy looked right at him and threw the ball to him. RIGHT OVER HIS HEAD! OVER HIS HEAD BY ABOUT 6 ROWS! Parker looked at him and shrugged and said "At least you tried". The guy shrugged back at him, with a smile.
At the beginning of the next inning, the same guy comes back with another ball! Parker stood up and the guy threw it to Parker again! Parker had to jump, but he caught it! How fun is that?!
It was an awesome night at the ball park!
